Some of the best engineers don’t come from computer science. They come from art, music, journalism, fields where experimentation is the job and failure is part of the process. They’re used to building from scratch, pushing boundaries, and learning by doing. We shouldn’t treat that as a fluke. We should hire for it on purpose — because those are the instincts great engineers need.
